Meet the Character: Cameron Langley

Sexy, powerful, confident and sweet: that’s Cameron Langley, the big-hearted love interest in Mermaid of Venice.

Cameron is an American banker living in London. He meets Gia Acquaviva at her club Zeus, and they are instantly drawn to each other. They have an intense connection, and Gia finds herself falling for him––but she has a very bad habit of killing her lovers. Will Cam be the one to curb her darker urges?

Below are a few excerpts that give you a peek at this hot character.

WHEN GIA MEETS CAMERON:

“Hi,” spoke a man with an American accent over Gia’s shoulder. She turned her head.

“Ciao.”

“Italian,” he smiled with his eyes, which were big, blue, and round.

“American?” she asked.

“Yeah.” He glanced around the room and sipped slowly from a glass. He was tall and muscular, built like a Hemsworth. Hot.

“Lawyer?”

“Worse,” he groaned, “banker.”

“Tsk. Tsk. Imagine, a capitalist in a place like this.”

“Sad state of affairs,” he said, finishing his drink. “I have to agree.”

“What are you drinking?” Gia asked.

He looked down at the table, to her bottle. “I’ll have some of that.”

“Oh, will you?” she laughed. She put her hand out for his glass, and he gave it to her. She began to fill it. “Here?” she asked, squinting up at him through the glass. He rolled his pointer finger to say, a little more. She kept pouring, and he kept rolling his finger.

“Mercy,” he said, finally, and she handed the glass back to him. “Mind if I sit?”

She cocked her head at him. He sat.

“Zeus,” he said.

“Hmm?”

“Odd name for a club.” He sat back and crossed one leg over his knee. He really looked like a man’s man, with his arm propped over the top of the banquette, observing everything. Big Dick Energy. She glanced down while he wasn’t looking. The view did not disappoint. She would have already gone in for a nice juicy nibble if she were dealing with anyone else, but this American was also a Shark. She’d need to wait and see if she would draw first blood.

WHEN CAMERON BEGINS TO FALL FOR GIA:

Cam snuggled Gia into his cardigan and kissed her forehead. He felt at ease around her in a way he never had with anyone before. Admittedly, she was always a bit out of reach, but he enjoyed pulling her over to his side. She made endless interesting observations about the world, like a person possessing many more years of experience.

An old soul, as they say.

He loved that she never pressured him for anything—not a commitment, not money, not even affection or time. She was tight-lipped about her businesses, but then, so was every other halfway-decent mogul he’d ever met, and he recalled that his parents used to say that they couldn’t get Rupert Murdoch to utter a word regarding any of his dealings.

Cameron often wondered about Gia’s net worth, and whether she was in the high eights, nines, or even ten digits. Impossible to say. She wasn’t super flashy, didn’t shop like crazy, or overspend. Everything about her was elegant and understated.

And the sex?

Forget about it. Best of his life.

For him, Gia was one in a million, possibly one of a kind. He just needed to figure out how to keep her around. It had been nearly a month since he’d met her, and he was already feeling those elusive forever vibes.
