And I'm Feeeeelin' Good

Very often I share my struggles and down times here on the blog. I think it’s also important that I share the good times. And, buddy boy, I have been feeling great the past few weeks.

What’s got me whistling these days? I am finally starting to see serious payoff for all my hard work!

My brother’s so goofy, and I love him so much.

I HAD A LOVELY VISIT TO GEORGIA.

I was in the U.S. for a visit a few weeks ago. I spent a few days with my brother, and we had the most wonderful time. He’s an entrepreneur, so we really connect about business. He gives me lots of really good advice. Plus we laughed a lot, ate a lot, and played video games. It was very restorative.

I’M MAKING PROGRESS WITH WRITING.

This week my brother helped me move my email list to a new service provider, and I am reallllly excited about doing more with email in the coming months.

When reviewing my Insider Circle stats, I realized that my readership has grown 5x in the last four months. I’m getting more sales and reviews these days, and that feels so good.

REVIEWS ARE COMING IN HOT!

Over the past few months, I’ve been partnering with a lot of book review sites and bookish content creators to run giveaways, and that’s been crucial in readers discovering the Mermaid of Venice series. The more the bookish community passes my books along, the more reviews I get. Reviews are probably the most helpful tool in driving book sales.

I’M GETTING MORE BOOK SALES.

Part of the promotion and marketing that I am doing is sending books to popular reviews who read the book for free and then post honest reviews. Sometimes it’s hard to read bad reviews! However, I always remind myself that if you try to appeal to everyone, you end up appealing to no one. Plus, there are tons and tons of books and movies with epic fan bases that 1) I don’t care about. or 2) I don’t even know about. The way I see it, it’s none of my business whether someone hates the book series. That just means I' have one less person I need to worry about. I’m focusing on relationships with people who enjoy my work and who vibe with the kind of person I am. All that I can do is be myself and do my best to put books and content on the market that I’m proud of.

I’M FINISHING THE MERMAID OF VENICE SERIES

Book four, Mermaid of Paris, launches next month. I could not be more proud of myself. A little over a year ago I was publishing my first novel, and now I’m about to finish the whole series! I’m in the midst of writing book five, Mermaid of St. Moritz, and immediately after that deadline, I will roll into drafting the final book, Mermaid of Monte Carlo.

WHAT’S NEXT?

After I finish the Mermaid series, I have to decide which projects to tackle next. I would love to do more video content on TikTok, but that is proving difficult to do on a consistent basis, because it’s time consuming. I feel more and more confident and comfortable writing, so I want to do more of it! I’m trying to decide between sext witches, sexy spies and scary stories. What’s your preference? And, would you rather have me focus on one series at a time, or put out multiple books in different series/genres?
