Do You Want to Be the Voice of Gia Acquaviva
Tap, tap. “Is this thing on?”
I’m beyond excited to share with you that I am beginning production on the audiobook for Mermaid of Venice! I’m seeking a voiceover actor to play the part of Gia Acquaviva, the lead in the series. Auditions are open!
Who is Gia?
Gia Acquaviva is an ultra-rich Venetian mogul with a portfolio of clubs and casinos around the globe. Gia harbors dark secrets––and an underwater graveyard filled with the bones of her former lovers.
She operates in the shadows and leads a very private life, despite courting (and murdering) some very high-profile men. She’s fascinating. What developed as I wrote her was an inner struggle between her wanting freedom and craving intimacy. I have always found it very interesting that some serial killers, like Ted Bundy, could carry on a perfectly normal life. Often the people closest to them have no idea about the darkness they harbor or the horrors they bring about. At one point in the book, Gia thinks that what she most enjoys in life is circling the net and never getting caught. Her charm and sex appeal are what lure in men.
Gia is a complicated woman. She’s smart and driven, but her dark side is super dark. Her late father’s best friend Vittore acts as a stand-in parent for Gia. He’s her foil really. I love their relationship, because she has true affection for the old man. He brings out the best in her, and they laugh together and fight like a son and a daughter. Vittore is hilarious, and he brings a lot of comic relief to the book.
Despite her sinister desires, she longs for true intimacy and believes she may have found her match in Cameron Langley, a successful American banker and dead ringer for Chris Hemsworth. He offers Gia her first real opportunity for lasting love. They share an intensely passionate, deeply sensual connection… but is her growing affection for new lover enough to lull the murderous cravings she feels building within?
That’s a quick look into the mind of Gia. Do you have what it takes to be the voice of this brooding, sexy anti-hero?
