It’s getting hot in the Northern hemisphere. If you’re looking for a little more heat this Memorial Day weekend, then here’s a steamy excerpt from Mermaid of Venice for you.

The elevator was lined with leather like a Chesterfield sofa. The ceiling was antique mirror. He passed a keycard and pressed PH without looking her way. They didn’t speak at all on the ride up. It wasn’t awkward though. There was a strong spark between them, and the fuse was long. She guessed that watching it burn down might be just as fun as feeling it explode.

The door opened into the apartment, which was an extraordinarily lofty studio, all glass. Double height glass walls; cathedral ceiling, also glass. There was a large bed in the center of the room, and beyond that, a clear, pristine cube that housed a large shower and a stainless steel bath.

“Not bad,” she remarked.

“Right?” he winked at her. “I do all right.”

“My place is not terrible either,” she replied.

“Oh? You’re already inviting me over?”

She let out a breathy scoff. “Shameless!”

He led her over to the window, and they looked down on London. He came very close to her. “Do you want…” he brushed the hair off her shoulder, and her Cartier earring dangled, twisting. “Do you want a drink?” he whispered in her ear.

“No.”

He pressed her body against the glass and kissed her neck. She pushed off the wall and against him to turn around and kiss him, but he thrust his hips into her to hold her in place. And between his legs, he was hard.

“Ahhh,” she moaned, unsteadily.

His hand was on her thigh and then up her skirt. “What’s your name?” he whispered, as his hand slipped inside her. It felt so good she didn’t speak for a moment. His other hand was on her breast, and she felt distracted. “Your name?” he groaned.

“Ah, ah… it is Gia.”

“I want to fuck you, Gia.” He picked her up and carried her to the bed. Opening the drawer of his bedside table, he grabbed a condom, ripped it open, and fucked her hard until he came. Then he went down on her and returned the favor. They laid together afterward, both staring up into the sky at the growing, crescent moon.

“Not bad,” Gia said.

“Right?” He repeated, as before. Then, he looked over at her and kissed her. When he decided to climb under the sheets, he brought her with him, drawing her near. Gia snuggled into his chest as he pressed a button and the whole apartment went dark.
